    A generally good read. Very informative and intruiging, offering something of a window into the complexities of power and how it relates to rule. Sly and cunning in nature, but compelling read, especially as Machiavelli uses real life examples of historical persons to make his point! Not sure I subscribe to all his thoughts and philosophies (as outlined within this book), but definitely a thought provoking read! Only downfall is it is written for its time, and by and large for the Italian ruling class of the Middle Ages (what I imply is you will certainly benefit from having an understanding of Italian history and hegemony from period)!
